Dissertation / thesis: protein engineering of protein Tumorigenic Targeting Peptides: Most human cancers are characterized by deregulated expression of certain proteins or generation of unnatural fusion proteins through chromosomal translocation. Our aim is to generate peptides that effectively block these cancerous proteins and to restore the “normal” state of the cell. Current targets include c-Jun, c-Fos, c-Myc, AF10 and AML1-ETO.

Methoden:
We use a combination of rational design as well as evolutionary approaches combined with in vivo and in vitro selection systems to generate peptides specific for their target proteins. Our lab uses a broad spectrum of methods: molecular biology, selection techniques, rational design, protein biochemistry, biophysical analyses, cell biology, informatics and proteomics. Experience on one or more areas is desired.
