The University of Antwerpen is offering Doctoral Scholarship for October 2017 intake. Scholarships are awarded in the area of ‘Functional Morphology’ in the Department of Biology.

The University of Antwerp is one of the major Belgian universities located in the city of Antwerp. The name is abbreviated as UAntwerp, as the abbreviation UA should no longer be used.

Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing doctoral programme.

Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded in the area of Functional Morphology.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship will cover the followings:

• A doctoral scholarship for a period of 1 year, renewable up to 4 years after positive evaluation;
• The start date of the scholarship: 1 October 2017;
• A gross monthly grant ranging from € 2.280,27 – € 2.419,84
• A dynamic and stimulating work environment.

Scholarship can be taken in Belgium

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following area for the scholarship:

• Students should have a Master degree in Biology, Veterinary Sciences, (Bio-) Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or related sciences.
• Students should have a certificate that allows you to work with laboratory animals (at least category C in accordance with Belgian legislation).
• Students can show that you have achieved outstanding academic results.
• Students in the final year of their degree (graduation 2016-2017) are also invited to apply.
• Student’s academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy.
• Students are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.
• Students should demonstrate a proficiency in the English language.
• Students should have a keen interest in animal (functional) morphology.
• Having experience in experimental work and/or biomechanics is a plus.
• Having experience with Matlab is a plus

Nationality: Students from Belgium are eligible to apply.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have master’s degree.
