The Heidelberg Graduate School of Fundamental Physics (HGSFP) at the University of Heidelberg, established in the framework of the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal and State Governments, invites applications for
Doctoral Scholarships
in its core areas of modern fundamental physics: (a) Fundamental Interactions and Cosmology, (b) Astronomy and Cosmic Physics and (c) Quantum Dynamics and Complex Quantum Systems. The HGSFP combines doctoral projects at the forefront of international research in the areas mentioned above with a rich and thorough teaching program. The branch Astronomy & Cosmic Physics is the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for Astronomy & Cosmic Physics at the University of Heidelberg (http://www.mpia.de/imprs-hd). Astronomy students accepted into the Graduate School will automatically be members of the IMPRS-HD and conversely. Membership in the IMPRS for Quantum Dynamics in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (http://www.mpi-hd.mpg.de/imprs-qd) is envisaged if appropriate.
Highly qualified and motivated national and international students are invited to apply. Applicants should hold a Master of Science or equivalent degree in physics. At equal levels of qualification, preference will be given to disabled candidates. Female students are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applications for scholarships should arrive by December 13, 2008. Applicants have to initiate their application registering via a web form available at http://www.fundamental-physics.uni-hd.de/scholarships.php.

I’ve finished preparatory education and i’m posted to Addis Ababa university to study enginnering(arctecture).However my deep interest is in astronomy.I participate on online discussions on astronomy and read different books.Since the subject is not given in Ethiopia, i have no choice but study enginnering ,which i think is at least relevant to astronomy than medicin.So please i want a scholarship in astronomy and i hope you wouid help me.Waiting for a positive responce.
Hai, i’m haven’t got my BA degree from ITB, indonesia (still in the 7th semester). But, I’m really interested in aircraft lightweight structure. Right now, i’m writing a paper about digital image correlation. I’m equally interested in race car too.
I’ve got 2 options:(a), finish my BA then continue to master degree in indonesia. Then find a PHD scholarship or (b). find a full funded master and PHD scholarship from outside indonesia (i prefer germany).
Which one do you think is better? I hope you can help me decide, and find a suitable scholarship too. God bless you.
