EDHEC Risk Institute–Asia is funding PhD scholarships in Finance (Executive Track) and (Residential Track) in Singapore. Applicants from ASEAN countries, APAC countries and territories can apply for this PhD scholarship. The institute is offering three full-tuition scholarships to ASEAN professionals and seven half-tuition scholarships to practitioners. They are also offering two full-tuition scholarships plus stipend for research assistants to join the team and a PhD in Finance (Residential Track) in Singapore. Send your application by mid-September 2013 and end-November 2013.

Eligibility: -EDHEC-Risk Institute PhD in Finance programme is highly selective.
-Normal requirements include: a master’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited school, college, or university (business management, economics, science, and engineering degrees are preferred);
academic excellence;
superior scholastic potential (certified by GMAT or GRE scores
the average participant in the programme has a GMAT of 700);
relevant professional experience; -and English proficiency.

EDHEC-Risk Institute Asia-Pacific Doctoral Scholarships: All citizens of Asia-Pacific countries and territories are eligible to the outstanding track scheme under the EDHEC-Risk Institute Asia-Pacific Doctoral Scholarships. While eligible, Singapore citizens should also seek information about the Finance Scholarship Programme administered by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Other ASEAN member country nationals are also eligible to the EDHEC-Risk Institute ASEAN Doctoral Scholarships.
• Scholarship applicants need to have a minimum of five years of relevant working experience and be in paid employment during the period of the award.
• Scholarships take the form of tuition waivers; they do not cover travel and other expenses.
• While scholarship applicants need not be sponsored by their employers, financial support extended by employers can be combined with scholarships under the outstanding professional scheme.
• Outstanding professional scheme scholars need to remain in paid employment during the period of the award.
• Outstanding professional scheme scholars are not allowed to concurrently study towards other degrees or qualifications during the period of the award without the prior approval of the EDHEC Risk Institute–Asia.
• No bond is attached to the scholarship. Residential track scheme
• All citizens of Asia-Pacific countries and territories are eligible for the residential track scheme.
• Scholarship applicants need to have a minimum of two years of relevant working experience.
• The Scholarship and stipend award are conditional on the selected candidates obtaining an Employment Pass or Letter of Consent from the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, where relevant, and maintaining employment with the EDHEC Risk Institute–Asia during the period of the award.
• Residential track scheme scholars are not authorized to accept any other type of employment, whether remunerated or not, or concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, bursary or allowance during the prescribed period of the award without the prior approval of the EDHEC Risk Institute–Asia. They are not allowed to concurrently study towards other degrees or qualifications during the period of the award without the prior approval of the EDHEC Risk Institute–Asia. There is no bond beyond the period covered by the scholarship.

The EDHEC-Risk Institute ASEAN Doctoral Scholarships:
• Singapore citizens are not eligible for the outstanding professional scheme of the EDHEC-Risk Institute ASEAN Doctoral Scholarships and should seek information about the comparable scheme under the EDHEC-Risk Institute Asia-Pacific Doctoral Scholarships and about the Finance Scholarship Programme administered by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Scholarships are available for both the executive and residential tracks of the programme delivered at the EDHEC Risk Institute–Asia in Singapore. The scholarship programme includes one funding scheme for finance practitioners who wish to join the executive track of the EDHEC-Risk Institute PhD in Finance and one funding scheme dedicated to professionals who are willing to join its residential track.

Number of award(s): Institute is offering three full-tuition scholarships to ASEAN professionals and seven half-tuition scholarships to practitioners who hail from APAC countries and territories for participation in our PhD in Finance (Executive Track) in Singapore. They are also offering two full-tuition scholarships plus stipend for research assistants to join our team and PhD in Finance (Residential Track) in Singapore.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are awarded for three successive years subject to respect of normal progression and maintenance of good standing in the programme.

What does it cover?
-The EDHEC-Risk Institute EDHEC-Risk Institute Asia-Pacific Doctoral Scholarships: Under the outstanding professional scheme, EDHEC Business School funds selected participants in the executive track of the Asian chapter of the EDHEC-Risk Institute PhD in Finance up to a level of 50% of their tuition fees (i.e. SGD31,500 per annum over three years).
-The EDHEC-Risk Institute ASEAN Doctoral Scholarships: Up to three full-tuition scholarships will be awarded to ASEAN member country professionals joining the Asian chapter of the EDHEC-Risk Institute PhD in Finance in 2014. Excellent candidates that fail to qualify for full-tuition scholarship may be offered partial-tuition scholarships.

Selection Criteria: The outstanding professional scheme is targeted at practitioners who can demonstrate exceptional academic and professional achievements.

How to Apply: PhD in Finance applicants should indicate their interest in the scholarship when they file their application for admission and submit a cover letter in support of their application to the scholarship. Where relevant, applicants may also concurrently or subsequently submit a letter of support from their employer explaining why they are sponsoring the applicant and describing what support they would be extending should the applicant be admitted to the programme and/or be awarded a scholarship.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The recommended application deadline for the scholarship is mid-September 2013; the final application deadline for the programme is end November 2013; the programme starts in February 2014.
