NCBW Sacramento provides annual scholarships to local student’s high school and college students pursuing a college degree.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

  • Current high
  • school senior
  • Attend High school within a 35 mile radius of the Sacramento Metropolitan Area
  • 3.0 (minimum) overall grade point average
  • Official high school transcripts
  • Financial need
  • Two letters of recommendation (one from school official, one from a community person) familiar with your involvement
  • African American students are encouraged to apply
  • Essay - “My Life, My Goals”
  • Personal interview required for selected candidates
  • Personal photo, 3″ x 5″ (or larger)

COLLEGE SCHOLARHSHIP CRITERIA

  • Current college attendance (enrolled in 9 units minimum, Spring 2007)
  • Completed a minimum of 30 college units
  • Earned a minimum 2.8 overall grade point average
  • Two letters of recommendation (one college, one community person - familiar with your involvements)
  • Official Transcripts/s of all colleges attended
  • Reside within a 35 mile radius of the Sacramento Metropolitan Area
  • Financial Need
  • Essay - “My Life, My Goals”
  • Personal interview required for selected candidates
  • Single parent with dependent children are encouraged to apply
  • African American students are encouraged to apply
  • Personal photo, 3″ x 5″ (or larger)
