Scholarship of Eliahou Dangoor at University College London UK
Job Description: UCL is pleased to announce its participation in the Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship scheme launched by the Russell Group and 1994 Group of universities, following the generous donation made by Dr Naim Dangoor to establish a scholarship fund named after his father. The scheme provides scholarships of up to £1,000 for new UK Home students who wish to study science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects at UCL.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants for the Scholarship must:
* be a UK (Home) student entering the first year of their programme in 2010/11;
* hold an offer of admission to study at UCL on an undergraduate degree within a STEM subject as listed HERE – ONLY STUDENTS REGISTERED ON THESE PROGRAMMES ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY;
* be in receipt of a full maintenance grant or special support grant from the Government. In 2010/11 the full maintenance grant is £2906.
Selection Criteria
The criterion for awarding the scholarship is financial need.
Funding is given specifically to provide support to talented students from under-privileged or non-traditional backgrounds. For example; this would include those students who are in receipt of a full maintenance grant, or special support grant and/or the first in their family to attend university or study for a higher education qualification.
In 2010/11 UCL will be able to offer in the region of 35 individual scholarships.
Value: Benefits and Duration
The successful recipient will be awarded £1,000 during the first year of their programme only. Part-time students may also apply for an award of £500.
This scholarship may be held alongside other awards (grants, loans etc)
