PhD ESRC Studentship on Climate Change (4 years)
An ESRC studentship award is available for PhD research from October 2008 on the economics related to climate change. The research area includes evaluation of the firm level impact of climate change policies, explaining variations in firm level pollution and energy usage, analysis of climate change related innovation and the relationships between climate change and international trade.
The studentship will be based in the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and the student would also be affiliated to the Centre for Economic Performance. Applicants must hold a degree in Economics (First or Upper Second) and have a good level of quantitative skills. The studentship is also open to current early stage PhD students or Masters qualified students (with Merit and 65% or above for dissertation topic).
Applicants must meet the ESRC’s postgraduate funding eligibility requirements. The studentship covers full fees for EU/UK students plus an annual stipend of £17,940 for up to four years (for UK students and for EU students resident in UK for 3 years).
