Florida Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA) offers a scholarship program in the USA. The training events, which cover all aspects of government finance, are designed to provide knowledge to the financial administration staff of municipalities, counties, colleges, universities, school districts and special districts. The award is designed for college students to further their professional development as they pursue a career in government. The students of FGFOA can apply for these scholarships. Applications are accepted twice annually. Applications are accepted twice annually: between August 1 and September 15, and between January 1 and February 15.

Eligibility: Applicants must be a student member of FGFOA: Any individual attending undergraduate or graduate classes at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or public administration, and who is not employed full-time by a government employer in the field of accounting or finance. The applicant may apply for one or all of the awards offered by FGFOA.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Applicant must be a student member of The Florida Government Finance Officers Association can apply for these scholarships.

Scholarship Description: The Florida Government Finance Officers Association is a professional organization that promotes networking and continuing education credits through website training, seminars, and conferences. The training events, which cover all aspects of government finance, are designed to provide knowledge to the financial administration staff of municipalities, counties, colleges, universities, school districts and special districts.  The award is designed for college students to further their professional development as they pursue a career in government.

Number of award(s): The number of awards available each year will be determined by the FGFOA Board of Directors during their annual budget process.

Duration of award(s): Up to $1000 for the Annual Conference, UP to $1000 for the beginner session at the School of Government Finance (SOGF), $500 award to be utilized toward the cost of college/university tuition and books.

What does it cover? The scholarship covers one of the following:
-Up to $1000 for registration, three hotel nights, meals ($108), actual tolls, and mileage at $0.445 per mile for the Annual Conference held in May or June,  or
-UP to $1000 for registration , three hotel nights, meals ($108), actual tolls, and mileage at $0.445 per mile the beginner session at the School of Government Finance (SOGF) in November, or
-A $500 award to be utilized toward the cost of college/university tuition and books.

Notification: The award(s) will be made no later than September 30, and February 28 each year.

Scholarship Application Deadline: Applications are accepted between August 1 and September 15.
