France CNRS and University of Limoges PhD Position

XLIM is a Carnot research insititute from CNRS and the University of Limoges. The institutes has about 110 PhD students, and 400 people working in the field of microwave and optics.

Position in RF-MEMS tunable components.
XLIM research institute (400 people) is proposing a PhD Thesis on Radio Frequency MEMS tunable filters.
The proposed project is focusing on the development of revolutionary tunable band pass filters.
using tunable MEMS capacitors.
Two basic ideas will be developped:
Build a low loss filter, and demonstrate linearity several orders of magnitude higher than
other tunable filter technology.
The project will be conducted in cooperation with industrial partners, and
the successful applicant will develop innovative solutions using existing RF-MEMS fabrication
process at XLIM.
XLIM offers an attractive and young environment (staff <30 average) within a motivated
and dedicated research group.
Salary is 1400 Euros, the duration is 3 years and the position is located in Limoges.
