The University of Auckland is the largest university in New Zealand, located in the country’s largest city, Auckland. It is the highest-ranked university in the country, being ranked 81st worldwide in the 2016/17 QS World University Rankings.

Course Level: The scholarship is available to pursue a PhD programme.

Study Subject: The scholarship is awarded in the field of Computer Engineering.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship will cover the following;

  • The student will be paid a stipend of 27,000 NZD per annum + fees + conference travel.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Candidate must hold an undergraduate degree in Electrical, Computer, or Biomedical Engineering. Experience in at least two or more of these topics is essential: mathematical modelling, formal methods, signal processing, machine learning. Good programming experience and interest in biophysics is essential. Experience with design environments such as MATLAB, OpenModelica, VHDL, scikit-learn, would be beneficial for the project.

Nationality: New Zealand applicants are eligible for the scholarship.
