Chignecto-Central Regional School Board is inviting applications for Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarships.
The Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarship were created in 2015 for the purpose of fostering awareness in health research and/or innovation at the IWK and to recognize outstanding Grade 12 students in the Maritimes who have demonstrated an early interest in health-related research and/or innovation.
The Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) is comprised of 17 board members and 2,700 staff, all striving to provide a well-rounded education for over 20,000 students in grades Primary to 12.
Scholarship Description:
Application Deadline: March 1, 2018
Course Level: Scholarships are available to continue education at a Maritime post-secondary institution (college or university).
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in a field that will enhance research and/or innovation in health care.
Number of Scholarships: There are three scholarships available.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:
Eligible Countries: Canadian students are eligible to apply.
Entrance Requirements: To be considered for one of three Future Health Research & Innovation Scholarships, Grade 12 students in the Maritimes must intend on continuing their education at a Maritime post-secondary institution (college or university) in a field that will enhance research and/or innovation in health care.
English Language Requirements: If English is not your first language you will need to meet the university’s English language requirements for postgraduate courses.

The application form will only be available in English, however, cover letters, essays, and letters of recommendation will be accepted in French.
- Cover Letter: Tell us about yourself! Why are you interested in a particular area of health research and/or innovation? Be specic and tell us how your post-secondary education will help you pursue a research goal. (1-page max; double spaced; 12pt font)
- Essay: This is where you tell us about your research passion! Using scientic evidence tell us about
(1.) the specic area of health research and/or innovation you would like to pursue, and
(2.) how your research and/or innovation could potentially contribute to the health and well-being of children, women and families in the Maritimes. (3-page max; double spaced, 12pt font)
- References: This is where other people can tell us a bit about you! Please provide one Academic Reference (e.g. a teacher who can speak to your marks and school performance) and one Character Reference (e.g. a coach or boss who can speak to sportsmanship or work ethic). (1-page max; double-spaced; 12pt font)
Transcripts: Finally, please provide one copy with each of your Grade 11 transcript and you Grade 12 transcript (in progress).
