Your Profile:
The position is part of a joint project between the IGPM, RWTH Aachen (W. Dahmen),
the Seminar for Applied Mathematics, ETH Zurich (C. Schwab),
and the chair of applied Analysis, University of Osnabrück (G. Kutyniok). Good programming skills as well as a some background in function spaces and (applied and computational)
harmonic analysis are a must. A master degree in mathematics with outstanding grades is expected.
Your duties and responsibilities:
A central theme of the project will be the mathematical
analysis and the computer implementation of directional
representation systems in adaptive discretization methods
for partial differential equations.
Our offer:
The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is for a fixed term for 3 years. An extension by three more years is possible. Regular working hours are 39,83 hours a week. A PhD is required. The pay scale classification complies with the labour agreement TV-L. RWTH Aachen University has been rewarded with the “Total-E-Quality-Award” for its efforts with respect to gender equality.
