The Wilderness Society is now accepting applications for the 2009 Gloria Barron Wilderness Society Scholarship. This 10,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate student in natural resources management, law or policy programs.
The scholarship seeks to encourage individuals who have the potential to make a significant positive difference in the long-term protection of wilderness in North America.

For the sake of giving my
academic background, I was graduated from Bahirdar
university, one of Ethiopian university, by Bachelor
of education degree in Biology (major) and chemistry
(minor). I made correspondence with ITC institution
(Netherlands) and I have found admission letter in the
course of Natural resource management in 20005. For
this reason, I had applied to Netherlands fellowship
programme and World Bank Graduate Scholar ship
programme by fulfilling every criterion for two years
(20006&2007G. C) but they could not
release funds for me by saying that the competition
was high ( severe) that we could not give you priority
in this year. Again by giving hope for the coming
(third) year. Infact, the only reason I know that why
they did not give me priority is that my CGPA of
undergraduate study was too low. In this respect I
would like to search for first degree programmes
because my Ethiopian school leaving certificate
examination point was very satisfactory (given with
distinction) which was 3.4 (out of seven subjects I
had scored 3A’S 2B’S & 2C’S) .
now i seek to get funds to pusue my second degree in
my country universities or else if you give me promise
to release funds , i can get admission letter.
