Google Scholarship for Women 2009

September 8, 2008

Google have released information of the Google Europe Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship 2009, which aims to encourage women to excel in computing and technology, and become active role models and leaders. the Scholarships are open to female students entering their final year of a Bachelor’s degree, or enrolled in an a Master’s or PhD programme (or equivalent), in 2009/2010.

Multiple scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic background and demonstrated leadership. A group of female Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool. The scholarship recipients, selected from the finalists, will each receive a €5,000 (or equivalent) scholarship for the 2009/2010 academic year. In June 2009, all finalists will be invited to visit Google’s European Engineering Centre in Zurich for a networking retreat.

Candidates must:

be a female student entering her final year of a Bachelor’s degree, or enrolled in an a Master’s or PhD programme (or equivalent), in 2009/2010.
be enrolled at a University in Europe. Citizens, permanent residents, and international students are eligible to apply.
be studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics, or a closely related technical field.
maintain an excellent academic record (e.g. a First Class Honours degree).

The online application form and requested documentation must be submitted by 26th January 2009. All applications will be acknowledged by email. Finalists will be notified in April 2009.

I am Neema aged 25, I have a bachelor degree on Health Service Management, Graduated at Mzumbe University in 2007. Im looking forward to do Masters in Health Economics or Health Research,Monitoring and Evaluation. My big problem is how to get scholarship to study one of the course. Currently working with the Ministry of Health Tanzania but due to human resource crisis it have been difficult to grant education support for masters rather they train more new health professionals to address the crisis

I salute you all,i am a Tanzanian Female aged 27,currently i am working with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare as Health Administrator for the one of 8 zones.

I have a bachelor degree in Health Service Management from Mzumbe University in Tanzania with G.P.A of 3.9 2nd Upper Division.

I did my first degree with a lot of difficulties due to financial constrains but i thank God that i managed to get it at last.

I have a dream of doing Ms in Health Economics,Policy and Management. I will appreciate if i get scholarship in doing this course since people with Master degree on this course are too few in my country. Promise to use that education for the benefit of my country.
