Graduate Research Assistantship – Masters
Coastal Resource Management
Integrated Environmental Science Program

One research assistant position will be available beginning Fall 2009.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant(s) will perform their thesis research under the
supervision of Dr. Michael A. Reiter on an aspect of the assessment of
coastal watersheds for resource management in an integrated modeling
project funded by NOAA (the specific topic will be related to ongoing or
new research in integrated assessment: contact Dr. Reiter for details).
The assistantships carry a stipend of $16,000 plus tuition per year for
up to three years (assuming satisfactory progress toward the degree and
maintenance of a 3.0 gpa), based upon grant funding.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: U.S. citizenship, graduation from an accredited undergraduate
program in a major applicable to resource management (any field science,
resource economics, etc.), and acceptance to BCU’s MS program are
required. Individuals with an interest in interdisciplinary resource
management are particularly welcome to apply. Successful candidates will
be selected from among multiple applicants based on grades,
communication skills, potential to work effectively and independently on
scientific projects, and career goals. In keeping with BCU’s historic
commitment, minority students are particularly encouraged to apply.

any special qualifications, GRE scores, copies of undergraduate
transcripts, and two recommendation letters to Dr. Reiter at the address
below. The successful applicant(s) must also be accepted by the BCU
Masters program in Leadership with an Emphasis on Environmental Issues
(students will be transferred to the MS in Integrated Environmental
Science upon final approval of the curriculum by the BCU Trustees) to
