Chosun University is one of the oldest private universities in South Korea. Its campus is situated in Gwangju metropolitan city, in southwestern South Korea. The current president is Joen Ho-Jong. Around 33,000 students are enrolled.

Applicants should have good English language skills: TOEFL PBT 550, CBT 210, IBT 80, IELTS 6 or higher if the applicant’s mother tongue is not English.

  • Course Level: Scholarships are offered for graduate research positions at the Mobile Computing Lab., Chosun University, Gwangju
  • Study Subject (s): Scholarships are awarded in the area of wireless networking and mobile computing (including related fields).
  • List of Subjects: Sensor networks, body area networks, cognitive radio, vehicular networks, ad hoc networks, Internet of things, etc.
  • Scholarship Award:  It will cover tuition and living expenses.
  • Scholarship can be taken at the Republic of Korea  (South Korea)

Eligibility: 

In order to apply for a scholarship, the applicant must follow the given criteria:

  • For PhD or integrated MS-Ph.D. or MS applicants: 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5 or higher of cumulative GPA, or 70% or higher of the cumulative score if no CGPA is given (in Communications/Electronics/Computer Engineering or related areas)
  • Good programming skills in C/C++
  • Good English language skills: TOEFL IBT 91, IELTS 6.5 or higher if your mother tongue is not English
  • Good ability to cooperate with others in a multicultural environment
  • Good ability for highly self-motivated independent research

Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.

  • Supporting Documents: CV (including names, date of birth, nationality, gender, contact details, education, work experience, publications, and valid TOEFL/IELTS score if English is not your mother tongue), Scanned academic transcripts of B.S. (and M.S. for PhD applicants) and Scanned valid TOEFL/IELTS score report
  • Entrance Requirement: For PhD and M.S. applicants- 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5 or higher of cumulative GPA, or 80% or higher of the cumulative score (preferably in Communications/Computer/ Electronics Engineering or related areas)
  • English Language Requirement: Applicants should have Good English language skills: TOEFL PBT 550, CBT 210, IBT 80, IELTS 6 or higher if the applicant’s mother tongue is not English.
