Helmholtz International Graduate School for Cancer Research PhD Program
April 16, 2008The Helmholtz International Graduate School for Cancer Research at
the DKFZ invites applications for a 3-year Ph.D. program to conduct
research at the forefront of basic and translational cancer research.
The Ph.D. program offers a core curriculum covering the current
state of cancer research. To enhance interactions and knowledge
exchange the program sponsors activities such as seminar series and
annual retreats. All Ph.D. students are supported by thesis advisory
committees consisting of faculty members from the DKFZ, Heidelberg
University and collaborating research institutions.
The program offers interdisciplinary training with Ph.D. projects in the
following areas of research:
Cell and Tumor Biology, Developmental and Stem Cell Biology
Functional and Structural Genomics, Systems Biology
Epidemiology, Cancer Risk Factors, Cancer Epigenomics
Tumorimmunology
Infection and Cancer, Tumorvirology
Imaging and Radiology, Medical Physics
Translational Cancer Research
The Helmholtz International Graduate School invites applicants from
all countries holding the equivalent of a University Diploma/Master
degree. A good knowledge of English is required.All Ph.D. positions
are filled in a competitive selection process.

I am aspiring for a PhD Studentship. I would like to do my PhD in Molecular biology, Cancer biology and Immunology, under your guidance.
During my Master course, I had a piece of research project on Pharmaceutical Microbiology that includes extraction, purification, characterization and biological studies of chemical compounds from the microorganism.
