University of Nottingham High Achiever Foundation Prize for African Students in UK, 2018

The is inviting applications for high achiever foundation prizes available for African students.  5 scholarships of £2,000 each towards tuition fees to students from Africa*, registering on our Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Certificate.

The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from Africa.

The University of Nottingham is a public research university based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, United Kingdom. It was founded as University College Nottingham in 1881 and was granted a Royal Charter in 1948

Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Scholarship Description:   

  • Application deadline: June 29, 2018
  • Course Level: Prizes are available for pursuing foundation courses at University of Nottingham.
  • Study Subject: Prizes are awarded in the areas of Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Certificate.
  • Scholarship Award: Scholarships of £2,000 each towards tuition fees to students from Africa*, registering on our Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Certificate.
  • Number of Scholarships: 5 scholarships are available.
  • Nationality: Africa
  • Scholarship can be taken in the UK

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

  • Eligible Countries: Students of Africa (Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Western Sahara, Zambia and Zimbabwe) can apply for these foundation prizes.
  • Entrance Requirements: You can apply for this high achiever prize if you:
    • Are a national of (or permanently domiciled in) an African country
    • Are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
    • Already hold an offer to start on the Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Certificate at Nottingham in September 2018. You must have gone firm on that offer by 29 June 2018

    *3 of these scholarships will be reserved for students from Kenya or Nigeria

  • Applicants must already hold an offer to start a full-time foundation degree programme at Nottingham in September 2018 (in any subject area) in order to apply for this High Achiever Prize
  • Please send the completed form to scholarship-assistant-at-nottingham.ac.uk by the advertised deadline (see our website for details)
  • Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately six weeks after the closing date. You will only be eligible to receive this high achiever prize if you meet the conditions of your academic offer and have gone firm by the advertised deadline
