Indiana University McPheeters Scholarship 2009: Applicants must be admitted to Indiana University Southeast as a fully qualified undergraduate student planning to enroll during the 2009-10 academic year. Applicants must have a minimum high school or college cumulative GPA. of 2.5. Graduating high school seniors must have a minimum ACT Composite of 21 or SAT (Verbal + Math) of 1000. Applicants must complete and submit the McPheeters Scholarship Application. Applicants must choose and complete one of the required essays listed below. Applicants must attach at least one letter of recommendation from a counselor, teacher or
community leader.

ESSAY INFORMATION
Complete a 500 word essay on one of the following topics of interest to you.
1. What do you see as the greatest threat to the environment today, and as a responsible citizen in a diverse population, describe in detail your plan to effect change?
2. Why is diversity important when pursuing your education?

GENERAL INFORMATION
The mission of Indiana University Southeast is to provide high-quality educational pro-grams and services that promote student learning and prepare students for productive citi-zenship in a diverse society, and to contribute to the intellectual, cultural, and economic development of the region. IU Southeast is committed to the recruitment and retention of students from underrepresented populations.

The McPheeters Scholarship is a competitive, up to four-year renewable award, contingent upon continuous enrollment at IU Southeast and a minimum cumulative IU Southeast GPA of 2.5 or better. The award amount may vary and is based upon full-time or part-time enrollment and the total number of enrolled credit hours per semester. The amount will typically be awarded to be used during the Fall and Spring
semesters of the academic year.
