The Institution of Mechanical Engineers invites applications for First Year Undergraduate Scholarship for the year 2017. The resident of UK can apply for this Scholarship.

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) is an independent engineering society, headquartered in central London that represents mechanical engineers.

The Institution was founded at the Queen’s Hotel, Birmingham, by George Stephenson in 1847 (following an informal meeting at locomotive designer Charles Beyer’s house in Cecil Street, Manchester).

Each scholarship is worth up to £9,000 for three years of a MEng degree-level course (excluding industrial years), and £6,000 for two years of a BEng degree-level course (excluding industrial years). The scholarship is renewable annually, subject to satisfactory progress being made.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Currently on the first year of a UK Institution-accredited degree
  • Making excellent progress to the standard of 2:1 or above
