Hiram College invites applications for an Integrated Entrepreneurship (IE) Teaching Fellowship position. Hiram College is a private, non-sectarian, coeducational, residential, selective liberal arts BA-1 college, located in northeast Ohio within an hour’s drive of Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown.  Hiram College believes students in today’s increasingly competitive world need skills that lead directly to success. Integrated Entrepreneurship at Hiram integrates entrepreneurship concepts into the liberal arts through curricular and extra-curricular activities to help students develop critical thinking skills, curiosity, ethical awareness, and reading and writing abilities.  (For more information about IE at Hiram please visit www.hiram.edu/entrepreneurship).

IE Teaching Fellowship candidates must be ABD or have recently completed a MBA or similar degree. Candidates from all disciplines are encouraged to apply, though the area of research should clearly complement entrepreneurial studies.  Direct entrepreneurial experience is preferred.  The IE Teaching Fellow will be expected to teach half-time, i.e., three courses a year.  Fellows are also expected to offer two seminars annually and to mentor students participating in the IE idea competitions. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of continuation for an additional year.

Compensation will include an annual salary and health insurance eligibility.  This position also provides housing on campus and an annual allowance to defray the costs of attending professional meetings or of meeting with the IE Fellow’s academic advisor.  Hiram has an innovative academic calendar that provides a semester of 12 weeks for extended coursework and a three-week session devoted to intensive, seminar-like classes and experience on and off campus. Candidates should submit a current vita, three letters of recommendation, a one-page statement of teaching and entrepreneurial philosophies, and a statement describing their interest in teaching at a small, residential liberal arts college to:  William E. Fillner, IE Teaching Fellow Search Committee, via email at fillnerwe@hiram.edu.  Review of applications will begin June 1, 2010 and will continue until the position is filled.
