International Bolashak scholarship for students from Kazakhstan

August 14, 2008

“Bolashak” International Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

University of Liecester

Since its introduction in 1993, the Bolashak programme, meaning “the future” in Kazakh, has allowed hundreds of Kazakhstan’s brightest students to study abroad at some of the best universities in the world.

Bolashak students study undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in subjects which the Kazakh government has identified as priority areas to enable the country to prosper, such as Business, Law, Science and Engineering. Upon graduation, students return to their home country to work in government service for a period of five years.

The scholarship covers all tuition, insurance and accommodation costs, as well as living expenses and travel costs from Kazakhstan to the UK and home again at the end of the student’s degree.

For more information about Bolashak scholarships, including lists of the priority degrees and selection rules, please visit the Centre for International Programmes, Ministry of Education and Science, Kazakhstan.
