International Max Planck Research School for Optics and Imaging (IMPRS-OI)
Description : The Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg jointly run the International Max Planck Research School for Optics and Imaging (IMPRS-OI). We are offering

PhD Scholarships in Physics and Engineering.

Research topics span the range from fundamental optics to applied optics and medical imaging. Involved are the faculties of natural sciences, engineering and medicine. Further information can be found at: http://www.mpl.mpg.de/imprs

An excellent diploma or a Masters degree in physics, engineering or computer science is required. Good knowledge of English is mandatory.

The application process is run via a computer programme. To apply please use the following link: www.mpl.mpg.de/noah/
You’ll need to fill in your details, upload your High-School and university certificates and transcripts, prove your English abilities, write a short motivation letter and give us some argument about your choice of project. Besides, two letters of recommendation are needed. These have to be sent via email and pdf to imprs@mpl.mpg.de – directly by the referees. Only when we received these letters it will be possible for you to submit your application.

Applications for the programme starting in Fall 2010 have to be submitted before January, 31st 2010. The selection will take place in February and March 2010.
