VISEGRAD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (VSP) in cooperation with TOMAS BATA UNIVERSITY IN ZLÍN (TBU), CZECH REPUBLIC

The International Visegrad Fund is an international organization based in Bratislava, founded by the governments of the countries of the Visegrad Group (V4) – the Czech Republic, The Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Poland and the Slovak Republic – on June 9, 2000.

The purpose of the Fund is to promote development of closer cooperation among the V4 countries through supporting common cultural, scientific and educational projects, exchanges between young people, cross-border cooperation and tourism promotion.

The International Visegrad Fund offers Master´s and Post-Graduate (Post-Master´s/ Doctoral) scholarships for study/research of 1 to 4 semesters.

In-Coming Scholarships for outstanding students or Master´s (or equivalent) degree holders who plan to study at universities in the V4 region and who are citizens of the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine

Successful applicants within this scheme will receive scholarship of EUR 2,500 / semester.

In-coming scholars can be supported for the entire two-year Master´s program (at once), they may apply for support of Master´s studies in the length of 1, 2, 3 or 4 semesters.

Doctoral students may only apply for support in the length of 1 or 2 semesters (=5 or 10 months), however, they can re-apply next year.

In the event that the applicant applies for program that requires admissions tests or personal interview the result of which will be known only after the Visegrad Scholarship Program deadline, the university shall issue a preliminary letter of acceptance for the student, stating under what conditions the student may be accepted for what study and when and include also information when will be the results announced. Then, after they are unconditionally accepted, in June, the applicants or the host university should send to VSP the unconditional letter of acceptance, otherwise VSP will not sign the contract with the student even if the applicants were successful in the competition.

General procedure is as follows:

The student finds his/her program (either Master or Doctoral) at Tomas Bata University, contacts Ms. BLAHOVA Michaela from the International Office, gets the (preliminary) letter of acceptance and approval of the working plan for the requested scholarship period.

In the event of applying for the Master´s scholarship or if he/she has not finished Master´s studies yet, VSP also requires copy of Master´s or last obtained relevant diploma (certified translation in the English language).

The applicant fills out the on-line registration form (all parts) and uploads scanned documents in .pdf or .jpg formats – if a document has more than one page, the applicant is required to create one multipage .pdf file. The applicant has to submit the completed application form electronically by January 31.

After electronic submission, the applicant is requested to print the competed application form, sign it and send it to VSP (copy to Ms. BLAHOVA Michaela) with originals of the required documents, postmarked no later than January 31.

New application forms will be available on the web from November / December 2008.
