Psychology undergraduates can only apply if they will have graduated by the time their internship placement starts (October 2016). 2nd year undergraduates can apply for an undergraduate placement with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust if their university offers the opportunity to undertake a placement year. International students can apply as long as applicants are legally eligible to work and remain in the UK, and their qualification is equivalent to a UK psychology honours degree.

Eligibility: A psychology undergraduate placement is for students who are between their 2nd and 3rd year of study. Students whilst on their placement are still enrolled on their psychology degree and are therefore supported by their student loans. These placements are organized in partnership with universities who require students to be on placement for a full academic year (starting in October) and be at work at least 4 days per week.

Is this paid internship? The internships are voluntary. Travel expenses can be claimed up to £18 a day.
Internship Description: An internship is where a psychology graduate undertakes voluntary work to gain relevant professional experience in order to further their career. We know that it can be hard to get started on a career in applied psychology and that one of the bottlenecks is access to suitable experience. As a teaching trust we are addressing this by offering co-ordinate opportunities for graduates to gain relevant experience in our services. And this isn’t just about helping you out: our service users benefit significantly from the quality enhancements to our activities that volunteer graduates can offer.
