Applications are invited for Internships at the Royal Danish Embassy in Uganda. Applicants will be evaluated on personal qualifications and interests as well as the needs of the different teams. The internships are unpaid, but the embassy provides refund for documented expenses related to the internship. Up to three applicants will be selected for the internship for six months.

Eligibility: Interns are expected to have good interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently as well as working as part of a team. Keen interest in working in a developing country is a must. Being open-minded and having a high level of cultural awareness is essential. It is a requirement to have a high level of oral and written Danish and English and good computer skills (Word, Excel and Power Point) are an advantage.
-Students applying for an intern position must have a bachelor degree and be enrolled in graduate studies. You must not already have a university degree at master level. To apply for the position you must be either a Danish citizen or have had an extensive attachment to Denmark for a longer period of time. The internships are unpaid, but the Embassy provides refund for documented expenses related to the internship (such as travelling, vaccinations, accommodation and insurance) for an amount up to DKK 3,500 a month. Alternatively, interns can receive DKK 3,500 a month to cover such expenses, but in that case it is generally not possible to receive SU simultaneously.

Internship Open for International Students: Danish citizens who have or had an extensive attachment to Denmark for a longer period of time are eligible to apply for this internship.

Internship Description: Are you looking for professional and personal experiences that will widen your perception of the developing world? Do you want to work and live in one of the most vivid cities in Africa? Then, an internship at the Danish Embassy in Kampala is just what you are looking for. The Embassy of Denmark in Kampala is looking for three interns every semester running from 1st of February to 31st of July and 1st of August to 31st of January. The three interns are all expected to participate in tasks across the Embassy’s portfolio. However, each intern will on a daily basis join one of the Embassy’s three teams. As an intern in one of the teams, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the team’s work, taking both your own qualifications and interest and the needs of the team into consideration: Finance and Administration, Politics and economics.

Number of awards offered: Up to three applicants will be selected for the internship.

Internship Duration: Duration of the internship is six months.
