Job Description: The University of Luxembourg has an opening in its Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication for a: ITEA2 Post-doc (M/F) on Model-driven Security Testing Methodologies

2-year grant, full-time (40h/week).

Expected start: January 2011

The funding of this position is dependant on the acceptation of an AFR psotdocgrant www.afr.lu funding from the National Research Fund (FNR). A request fora grant on the Postdoc Call 22nd September 2010 will have to be submitted by the candidate and the University.The successful candidate will work, in case of acceptation of the grant by the FNR, with a team of specialists in Software engineering and in collaboration with a numberof european partners due to the european nature of the project in the following fields: software engineering methodologies,testing of banking applications, model-drivenengineering.
Overview of the DIAMONDS Project:
Duration: 2 years (January 2011 to December 2012). DIAMONDS is an ITEA2

European Project entitled Development and Industrial Application of Multi-Domain Security Testing Technologies.

Diamonds will leverage systematic, model-based testing and monitoring approachesfor security testing to enable highly secure systems by early testing and testautomation. Advanced model-based security testing methods will allow the earlyidentification of design vulnerabilities and efficient system/test design targeting security aspects. The DIAMONDS security test methodology will be adaptable to different multi-domain security standards, and enable a risk analysis-oriented test generation and risk assessments by evaluation of the test results.

Diamonds will develop a well-visible European security test methodology of industrial scale, which demonstrates to be successful for security-critical systems in different application domains.The main focus of the successful candidate within the DIAMONDS project will be on the definition of a model-driven security testing methodology. The methodological work will include the setup of a toolset for modelling and executing the securitytests specified during the modeling phase. DIAMONDS is an ITEA2 project, these projects have industry-driven goals. The candidate will work in close collbaboration with itrust (a luxembourg-based company) to define and apply the methodology on a banking case study.

Tasks:
+ Perform state of the art focusing on model-driven security testing methodologies.
+ Define a testing methodology in the context of model-driven engineering that is targeted at security properties.
+ Development of test measure (or metric) to evaluate the test selection and generation on large case studies.
+ Participate to the supervision of master students on the project
+ Participate in dissemination activities, publication in international conferences and journals
+ Participate in technical and administrative tasks associated to the project.

Profile :

+ PhD in Computer Science with specialization in Software Engineering and Software Testing
+ A strong background in model-driven engineering
+ A strong background in one of the following area: security or software testing
+ A good knowledge of model based testing , modeling techniques and metamodeling
+ Expert knowledge of UML / MDE / Model transformation and formal methods for Software Engineering
+ A record of publications
+ Fluent in English. French, German and Luxembourgish will be a plus
