Job Description: Through its Jean Monnet Fellowship Programme the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) offers one or two year fellowships to post-docs in an early stage of their academic career.

The main criteria of selection are the CV of the applicant, the overall scientific quality of the proposal, and the fit of the proposal with the Centre’s research programme.

Applications should include a description of the applicant’s planned research project while at the Centre.

Priority will be given to proposals that fit well with one or more of the Centre’s core research themes: EU Institutions, Governance, and Democracy; Migration; Economic and Monetary Policy; Development Policy; Competition Policy and Market Regulation; Energy and Climate Policy; International and Transnational Relations; and Global Governance.

Up to 10 Global Governance Fellowships are given to junior scholars from economics, history, law, and social and political sciences who will undertake research on global governance issues. Preference is given to proposals within the following domains:

* International financial and economic regulation;
* Global governance and democracy;
* History of globalisation;
* Comparative regional integration;
* Transnational private governance;
* International trade;

Two of the fellowships are awarded to candidates working on European Comparative Politics or European Comparative History as ‘Vincent Wright Fellowships’, in memory of the distinguished political scientist, Vincent Wright.

While at the RSCAS, each fellow is assigned a professorial mentor. Fellows work on a selected topic that fits with the research profile of the RSCAS and they are expected to participate actively in the research activities of the Centre. In addition, their stay at the Centre should result in the publication of either a RSCAS working paper or a publication in a scientific journal or with an appropriate publishing house.
