Jindal-Africa Scholarship Programme in India, 2016

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is now accepting applications for Jindal-Africa Scholarship Programme. The scholarships are offered to African students for study beginning in August 2016.

This scholarship programme is intended to build human capital of fellow developing countries through higher education. It aims to build capacities of young Africans by bringing them to the JGU campus in India and training them in key issue areas relevant to the national priorities of their respective countries.

JGU is a non-profit university recognized by the University Grants Commission, Government of India, with the motto of ‘A private university promoting public service.’

If English is not applicant’s first language then they will need to show that English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in their studies.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are offered to study the programmes offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: JGU offers scholarships to African students for study beginning in August 2016. The scholarships range from 50% to 100% tuition fee waiver, based on merit.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following guidelines:
-must meet the eligibility criteria for the JGU programme, and have an offer of a place.
-must be a national of an African country.
Eligibility Criteria for JGU Programmes:
Five Year B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)/B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.): Minimum 45% in 10+2 exam or equivalent + LSAT-India Exam
Three Year LL.B: Minimum 45% in Bachelor’s Degree + LSAT-India Exam
One Year LL.M: Bachelor’s Degree in Law + online admission exam
Three Year BBA/Integrated BBA- MBA (Five Year): SAT/ UGAT/ JAT + Minimum 60% in 10+2 exam or equivalent
Two Year MBA: CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT or ATMA + Minimum 50% in Bachelor’s Degree
Three Year B.A. (Hons) in Global Affairs: Minimum 50% in 10+2 exam or equivalent + SAT/ACT/JAT
Two Year Master of Arts in Diplomacy, Law and Business (MA DLB): Bachelor’s Degree + JSIA online Entrance Exam
Three Year B.A. (Hons) in Economics: Minimum 60% in 10+2 exam or equivalent (with Math) + SAT/UGAT/JAT
Two Year Master of Arts in Public Policy (MPP): Bachelor’s Degree + JSGP online Entrance Exam
Two Year B.A. (Hons.) Liberal Arts and Humanities: 10+2 exam or equivalent + SAT/ACT/JAT

Nationality: African students can apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have an offer for admission at the University.

Test Requirement: Students for admission to the five year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), three year LL.B and a one year LL.M programmes at JGLS will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Law School Admission Test—India (LSAT— India). LSAT—India is an entrance test designed by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), USA and is conducted by Pearson VUE, LSAC’s affiliate in India.

English Language Requirement:  If English is not applicant’s first language then they will need to show that English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in their studies.

India Scholarships

Supporting Material: Applicants must submit latest academic transcript/degree certificate and copy of valid passport.

How to Apply: Application must submit the scholarship application form along with the provisional offer to study in a JGU programme. On meeting the programme requirement, applicant will be offered a provisional scholarship. This offer is subject to applicant achieving the set score in the admission test for that programme. When applicants have demonstrated that they have met all the requirements, they will receive a confirmed offer of a scholarship.
