John Francis Kennedy Memorial Petroleum Engineering Entrepreneurial Scholarship 2009
This Scholarship has been established by eXtreme Machining Australia Pty Ltd (XMA) http://www.extrememachining.com.au, which is an organisation that was founded in 2002 with a focus to bring service back into the oilfield supply industry.
The Scholarship is named in honour of the late John Francis Kennedy, who was internationally recognised with respect and confidence for his work in development, design and testing machinery for the oil industry.
This Scholarship is open to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia and undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering) or combined degree that includes the Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering) program of study at the University of Adelaide. Students should be undertaking the fourth year of a single degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering) or final year of the relevant double degree and undertaking study on a full time basis as a Commonwealth Supported student.
The scholarship will provide to the successful recipient for one year an amount of $20,000 payable in two instalments following confirmation of enrolment at the census dates to assist with educational and living costs.
Selection for this scholarship will be made based on the criteria of demonstrated entrepreneurship, community involvement, innovation and academic merit.
The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered; acceptance of the Scholarship offer cannot be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.
