JRF-SRF Position IIT Guwahati India
Applications are invited for one post of JRF/SRF in a project entitled “IN VITRO PRODUCTION OF HAPLOIDS IN TEA” funded by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India at Department of Biotechnology, IIT Guwahati.
Scale of pay:
JRF- Rs 12,000/- per month (consolidated) + HRA
and Medical Facilities as per the institute rules.
SRF- Rs 14,000/- per month (consolidated) + HRA
and Medical Facilities as per the institute rules.
Minimum Qualification: M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ Plant Sciences or B.Tech. / M.Tech. in Biotechnology or related disciplines, with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates having throughout first division with valid GATE/NET score and an experience in Plant Tissue Culture techniques will be preferred.
Terms: The appointment will be on contract basis for a period of one year and may be extended for
another year (2nd year) based on the performance of the candidate.

latest by July 28, 2008. Selection will be based on the performance at the interview.

Candidates selected for the interview will be informed by post / e-mail. A list of candidates, called for
the interview, will be available on the Department of Biotechnology-web page. NO TA/DA will be
paid for attending the interview, which will be held at the Conference Room of the Department
Biotechnology, IIT-Guwahati. Tentative date for the interview is August 5, 2008 (Tuesday).
