KESS Scholarship- MPhil in Performance, Production and New Media Technologies, Aberystwyth University, UK
Aberystwyth University are seeking to recruit a 1-year Mphil student to work on a project entitled : “Performance, Production and New Media Technologies at ‘Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru”.
The prospective applicant should have a minimum of a 1st or good 2:1 in a relevant degree, and be available to take up the studentship by the 1st October 2010 at the latest. The project is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the European Union’s Convergence programme administered by the Welsh Assembly Government. KESS Mphil scholarships are collaborative awards with external partners. (in this case, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru )

1. To Dr Anwen Jones by 1st September 2010: a completed KESS application form in the top right hand box of the application form, two references, an up to date CV and a covering letter in which you expand on the relevant contents in your CV and wider experience, and why you think you are a good candidate. The KESS Application Form and the Project Description are available to download at the links below.
2. To the Postgraduate Admissions Office by 1st September 2010: A Research Programmes Application Form, two references (which may be the same as the above) and an Mphil proposal of up to 1,000 words. Value of Award: A stipend of £9,000 for 2010/11. Each scholarship has an additional budget of up to £5,200p.a for travel, equipment/consumables and training to support your research. KESS MPhil Scholarship holders do not pay fees.
Length: Full-time for 1 year. (Theses must be submitted 6 months after the funded year of study)
Training: The achievement of a Postgraduate Skills Development Award (PSDA) is compulsory for each KESS scholar (The PSDA is based on a 30 credit award, which is an additional award to the MPhil).
Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for a KESS award, you must be resident, upon application, in the Convergence Area of Wales and you must be able to take paid employment in the Convergence area on completion of the scholarship.
The Convergence Area means the following counties of Wales:
Isle of Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Caerphilly, Torfaen.
