Kwantlen Polytechnic University is now accepting applications for entrance scholarships open to Canadian students. The study program is open for eligible candidates who wish to take part in an undergraduate degree program.

KPU is Canada’s only polytechnic university which is committed to student development and provides learners with relevant knowledge and practical skills for career success. The award is available to help holders who are being admitted to KPU for the first time in the fall and spring 2023 term.

  • THE PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARSHIP
    a) Enrolling at KPU in a four-year program
    b) 80% average in English 12 and 3 other academic Grade 12 courses, or the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits
    c) demonstrated leadership, community involvement and volunteerism Conditions a) registration in a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits per semester
    b) required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for the duration of the award period
  • THE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
    a) enrolling in any KPU program
    b) 80% average in English 12 and 3 other academic Grade 12 courses, or the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits
    c) demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and volunteerism
  • THE ABORIGINAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP
    a) must identify as Aboriginal, First Nations, Metis or Inuit
    b) 80% average in English 12 and 3 other academic Grade 12 courses, or the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits
    c) demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and volunteerism

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Eligible applicants should complete an online free study application.
  • Supporting Documents: To apply, students must be ready to submit the High school transcript showing final and/or interim grades for English 12 and three other academic Grade 12 courses, or Transfer document showing the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits.
  • Admission Requirements: To apply for the program applicants must have a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits per semester, maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for the duration of the award period.
  • Language Requirements: English is the primary language of study at KPU, therefore, all applicants must be able to demonstrate the appropriate level of English language proficiency.

Benefits

The Kwantlen Polytechnic University will distribute the awards in the following manner:

The President’s Scholarship ($20,000)

  • Fall Semester Intake: Four awards; $5000 per year for up to four years
  • Spring Semester Intake: Two awards; $5000 per year for up to four years

The Merit Scholarship ($5,000)

  • Fall Semester Intake: 12 awards; $5000 split over 2 terms in the first year
  • Spring Semester Intake: Six awards; $5000 split over 2 terms in the first year

The Indigenous Entrance Scholarship ($5,000)

  • Fall Semester Intake: Two awards; $5000 split over 2 terms in the first year
  • Spring Semester Intake: One award; $5000 split over 2 terms in the first year
