KSP Excellence Scholarships for International Students in France, 2017-2018

Kuwait Program at Sciences Po and Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) are offering KSP Excellence Scholarships for the academic year 2017-2018. Scholarships are open for citizens of all nationalities to study master program at Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA).

The Kuwait Program at Sciences Po (KSP) develops a range of initiatives for students and faculty. It supports students through an ambitious program of scholarships and awards, and also develops an academic network organized around a full-time professorship position, a visiting faculty program and a seed fund program for joint research projects.

Sciences Po, or Paris Institute of Political Studies, is a selective university located in Paris, France. Its main campus is located on rue Saint-Guillaume in the 7th arrondissement.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing masters programme at Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA).

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded to study any one of PSIA’s two-year master programs in Middle Eastern Studies or PSIA’s one-year Master in Advanced Global Studies.

Scholarship Award:
Two-year master programs: KSP Excellence Scholarship for the Study of the Arab World and Gulf Region and KSP Excellence Scholarship for Arab Students each recipient is awarded up to 10 000 Euros per year (up to 20 000 Euros for two years of study). In principle, the scholarship is offered for both years of study. Students enrolled on this program must show sufficient academic performance over the course of the first year or their scholarship will be withdrawn in the second year. For KSP Excellence Scholarship for Least Developed Countries each recipient is awarded full tuition each year.
One-year master programs: KSP Excellence Scholarship for the Study of the Arab World and Gulf Region and KSP Excellence Scholarship for Arab Students each recipient is awarded up to 19 000 Euros for one year of study. In principle, the scholarship is offered for one year. Students enrolled on this program must show sufficient academic performance during the first semester or their scholarship will be withdrawn in the second semester. For KSP Excellence Scholarship for Least Developed Countries each recipient is awarded full tuition each year.

Eligibility:-Students applying to a dual degree program are not eligible.

KSP Excellence Scholarship for the Study of the Arab World and Gulf Region:

  • Candidates of all nationalities may apply.
  • Applicants must have already submitted a full application to the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA) for the 2017 intake through the Sciences Po Admissions Portal (including all supporting documents and references), and must have applied to one of the following programs: Any one of PSIA’s two-year master programs with the commitment to enrol on the Concentration in Middle Eastern Studies, PSIA’s two-year Master in International Energy with any concentration or PSIA’s one-year Master in Advanced Global Studies with the commitment to enrol on the Concentration in Middle Eastern Studies.

KSP Excellence Scholarship for Arab Students: 

  • Nationals from Arab countries, including the Gulf Region, may apply.
  • Applicants must have already submitted a full application to the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA) for the 2017 intake through the Sciences Po Admissions Portal (including all supporting documents and references), and must have applied to one of the following programs:Any one of PSIA’s two-year master programs or PSIA’s one-year Master in Advanced Global Studies.

KSP Excellence Scholarship for Least Developed Countries:

  • Nationals from Least Developed Countries may apply: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia.
  • Applicants must have completed their undergraduate studies in one of the above-mentioned Least Developed Countries.
  • Applicants must have already submitted a full application to Sciences Po for the 2017 intake through the Sciences Po Admissions Portal (including all supporting documents and references). Students applying to any one of Sciences Po’s master programs are eligible (oneyear master programs as well as two-year master programs).

Nationality: : Candidates of all nationalities are eligible for this KSP Excellence scholarship.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement:An undergraduate level degree (Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Sciences/licenciatura/licence) at the time of entry to Sciences Po.

Test Requirement: The GRE Revised General Test scores are highly appreciated for programme.

English Language Requirement: The language requirements depend on the programme students are applying to.

How to Apply: To apply, please send the following materials by email with ‘KSP Excellence Scholarship Application 2017’ in the subject line.

  • For all applicants: CV in English Cover letter in English of 1000 words (indicating which program at PSIA you are applying for) addressed to the members of the joint selection committee Copy of passport Completed and signed release form
  • For applicants coming from Sciences Po’s Undergraduate College only, in addition to the two above-mentioned items (CV and cover letter), please also provide: Copy of the official academic transcripts for the entire length of your time in higher education (including periods spent abroad on exchange programs). Two letters of reference from professors, written in English. To ensure confidentiality, these letters should be sent by the professors directly to program.kuwait-at-sciencespo.fr A joint selection committee will review all eligible scholarship applications.

Application Deadline: Applications for the academic year 2017-2018 are now open. Early-bird deadline: apply before December 11, 2016. General deadline: apply before March 8, 2017.
