The Leverhulme Trust is funding this project to investigate the political economy of the decline of the jute industry, jointly directed by Dr Carlo Morelli (Economics) and Professor Jim Tomlinson (History). We are seeking applicants for this two year post from those who have obtained their doctorate or are about to submit their dissertations. Applicants may have a disciplinary background in any area of empirical social science or humanities, but must have significant archival experience and the ability to work independently. A knowledge of basic economics/business concepts would be an advantage. The work will involve considerable travel within the UK.
