Light-matter interaction of molecules in nanoscale templates (spectroscopy and preparation)
Description : Two-dimensional templates with periodic pores and length scales in the nanometer range can be prepared in a self-organized way using electrochemical approaches. Such materials allow investigation and manipulation of light-matter interaction of inserted molecules and their array. In the proposed thesis, arrays based on anodized aluminium and porous silicon will be investigated and optimized with respect to fluorescence dynamics and enhanced Raman scattering cross section. Prof. Dr. Peter Lemmens You are required to hold an excellent university degree (master’s or equivalent degree) in physics, chemistry, electrical or mechanical engineering, mathematics, information technology or related fields. The entire program is run in English, so fluency in both written and spoken English is required. Skills in German are welcome. You may be a member of and receive a scholarship from the IGSM for up to 3 years. In your first semester, you will be accepted on a probationary basis.
