Eligibility
Students classified as overseas for fee purposes with exceptional academic marks throughout their academic career who hold an offer for any postgraduate taught course at LSBU.
How to apply
Download our online application form (Word Doc 55KB – opens in new browser window). All applicants must complete a separate Scholarship Application Form but students will only receive 1 Scholarship.
PLEASE NOTE It is necessary to have applied for an LSBU course BEFORE applying for an International Scholarship OR you may wish to submit your course application and scholarship application together. Please quote your Student ID number on your application form. Details on how to come to LSBU as an international student are available on our how to apply page.

Meseret Assefa was born in 11/11/1986 in a small village in the Oromia region of Ethiopia . From his father Assefa Gemeda and his mother Yadatu Gemeda. Meseret’s parents named him Nagaras, an African word that means better change. Little did they know how fitting his name would be! Meseret Assefa, a boy from an African village, grew up with a good dream. For a time being Meseret is unmarried he has a program to marry after take his masters. However to fulfill his dream in his home country there is a shortage of school and budget then he currently looking for scholarships provided for minorities who want to grow up their academic knowledge and skill like him.
At the age of five Meseret is the first person in his family to go to school. At school, Meseret was given the name Labata, word that means (as of Afan Oromo language version) next generation. He attended school by going 17 km from his home land since there is no near school to his home. After many struggle of school life Meseret join University of Gondar in 2005 and in 2007 graduated by Economics under Faculty of Management Sciences and Economics. At January 22, 2008 he was employed by Ethiopian government in Ethiopian Telecommunication Corporation Company as Junior Planning Officer.

I am Rev. Josephat Sahani Kaboya aged 39 years, an employee with National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) at Tabora Research Centre in Tanzania.
I have been working with this Research Institution since 1993 to date as a Senior Laboratory Technologist. In 2001, I completed a two year course of Advanced Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (specialized in Parasitology and Medical Entomology) at the Muhimbili University of health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) by then was known as Muhimbili University College of health Sciences (MUCHS)
Last year i.e 2008, I was offered a place to pursue MSc -Research/PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Biology of Cancer) in the school of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Liverpool, UK.
I tried to look for scholarship/sponsorships but I didn’t get any assistance financially. This year (during this academic year 2009/2010) the Liverpool school authority has nominated me again to pursue the same course.
I therefore, ask you to assist me financially to meet the school required tuition fee (pounds 12,000), bench fee (pounds 3,000.
Bench fee in years 2-4 will be ponds 6,000 = pounds 18,000.
The course is of 4 years and this offer is a conditional one (i.e. it depends on the availability of funds) Also, the course commences on 21st September,2009
I hope that, my financial request will be considered as this course is very important not only to me but also to my institute (NIMR), country and the World at large.
