The University of Edinburgh is offering Magnus Magnusson Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) PhD Studentship in UK. The successful candidate will be based at the University of Edinburgh, Moray House School of Education, and will be supervised by Professor Peter Higgins and Dr Beth Christie (University of Edinburgh) in collaboration with Dr Peter Rawcliffe (SNH).

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Course Level: Studentship is available for pursuing PhD programme.

Study Subject: Applicant will work on the project “The role of the natural heritage in supporting learning and development in Scotland”.

Scholarship Award: Studentship will cover home tuition fees and includes a stipend.

Scholarship can be taken in the UK

Eligibility:  Applicants would normally have an UG degee in a relevant area with a clasification of 2:1 or above (or the non-UK equivalent) and/or an appropriate MSc degree (or near completion) with normally a minimum of 60% for both the dissertation (when applicable) and the overall programme mark. Substanial and demonstrable research and professional experience will also be considered, and applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with others (e.g. professional organisations). The research proposal described in the next section will also be used in the selection process in order to assess subject knowledge and academic communication skills. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview at the University of Edinburgh or via Skype within the first two weeks of July. Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and approval by the SGSSS.

Nationality: The studentship is available to UK, EU and overseas students.
