Manufacturing Step Scholarship (MS2) at TUM Asia in Singapore, 2014/15

The TUM Asia in partnership with Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) is offering WDA Step scholarship for the citizens of Singapore. This WDA Step scholarship will be awarded for pursuing Master of Science programme. The $1 million programme aims to meet the diverse upgrading needs of PMEs. This Step scholarship will help some 60,000 PMEs over 3 years. Candidates will have to meet all the academic and admission requirements of the respective Master programme. Application closing date is 31st March 2014 for 2014/2015 academic year.

Study Subject(s): TUM Asia will be offering 5 supported Master programmes in conjunction with the MS2 Scholarship, namely:
•Master of Science in Integrated Circuit Design
•Master of Science in Microelectronics
•Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering
•Master of Science in Industrial Chemistry
•Master of Science in Transport and Logistics
Course Level: Scholarship is for pursuing master programme at German Institute of Science and Technology – TUM Asia in Singapore.

Eligibility: Only Singapore Citizens are eligible for the Manufacturing Step Scholarship and participating scholars and employees will have to meet the following requirements:
1.Scholars must be nominated and sponsored by their employers through their internal talent development programme or equivalent scheme.
2. Employers must be well established and must have a sizable operation in Singapore or are considering new investments or projects in Singapore.
3. Employers shall provide a career progression plan for the scholars during the application of the programme.
4. Employers shall bond the scholars for a duration equivalent to their training duration ranging from 18 to 24 months.
•Above 21 years old
•An applicant must have completed at least a Bachelor Degree or an European/German FH Diploma or its equivalent in areas of Science or Engineering from a university with recognized standing.
•If the medium of instruction in your previous Programme medium is not English, please submit either of the following information: 1.TOEFL: Recent score with a minimum of 605 for Paper-based test or 80 for Internet-based test or 234 for Computer-based test 2.IELTS: At least 6.5
•Able to fulfill the graduation criteria with a GPA of 2.5
•Willing to work in Singapore for a period equal to the duration of the programme

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Citizens of Singapore are eligible for this WDA Step scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The Manufacturing Step Scholarship (MS2) is a joint partnership between Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), TUM Asia and selected sponsoring companies. It aims to build a pipeline of management talents to meet the long-term needs of the manufacturing industry.

Number of award(s): This WDA Step scholarship will help some 60,000 PMEs.

What does it cover? This is $1 million programme which aim is to meet the diverse upgrading needs of PMEs. STEP will help some 60,000 PMEs over 3 years.

Selection Criteria: Candidates will have to meet all the academic and admission requirements of the respective master programme. With the clearance of all the administrative academic requirements, an interview with the TUM Asia/ WDA scholarship board will be arranged to ascertain the candidate’s eligibility to receive the scholarship. Candidates will also be required to undergo a further psychometric test administered by TUM Asia to confirm their suitability for the programme before they are awarded the scholarship.

How to Apply: To qualify for consideration in this Scholarship for Master of Science programmes AY 2014/2015 intake, applicants will be required to submit their Admissions application via the Admissions portal before 31st March 2014. Applications submitted after the stated deadline will not qualify for scholarship selection. Individuals/Companies who are interested in the MS2 programme may contact Mr. Gary Ong (gary.ong-at-tum-asia.edu.sg) to obtain more information for the application process under this scholarship scheme.
