    Hello, I am Louie Blake S. Sarmiento. I will be graduating in Bachelor of Science in Psychology in the Philippines this March 2010.

    Currently, I am looking for any scholarship for Master’s degree in Educational and developmental or Industrial and organizational Psychology.

    I am interested in these fields because I want to impart to my fellow Filipinos what I will learn from the University who will hopefully grant me a scholarship. With this, I might apply change or make better the fields of education and industries in our country.

    Forced to take B.S. Nursing, I experienced being a failure during my first three years in College because I felt lost and confused about life. I became very weak in dealing with life’s problems and even experienced a breakdown.

    I then shifted to B.S. Psychology and found my potential there. I became an honor student and a leader in various organizations. I also started doing outreach and volunteer activities which in return helped me become the person I am now. Since then I was very optimistic in making myself better each day. I kept on wanting to help other people in need as a way of giving thanks for I feel so blessed nowadays despite all the challenges.

    At present, both of my parents don’t have a stable job. I keep on trying to maintain my “honor” status to atleast earn 5 thousand pesos scholarship which I would use as additional payment for my tuition which is more or less 20 to 25 thosand pesos. I am also working as a work scholar in Silliman Elementary Guidance office and a facilitator of a Personality Enhancement Program in Silliman University for 18 to 50 pesos an hour. Sometimes, I would also co-facilitate psychological test administering for 20 to 50 pesos an hour. I would use all these as additional payment for my tuition or in buying school materials.

    I hope somebody who is fortunate enough can share his or her blessings and help me earn a Master’s degree. In return, I promise to help another person to get his or hers also.
