Masters Scholarships for Indian Students to Study in France, 2017

Campus France is pleased to offer master scholarships for Indian students. These scholarships are designed for one to two years of studies in France for all streams and fields of study.

The main objective is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of the students.

The creation of Campus France is part of an ambitious public policy to enhance the attractiveness of France in the field of higher education.

Applicants must be a student currently enrolled at an Indian Institution of higher learning or a young professional employed in a company for a maximum of 3 years at the time of application.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing a master degree programme at French institutions.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded for all streams and fields of study.

Scholarship Award: The Charpak Master Program offers two kinds of scholarships based on merit:

a) Charpak AME Scholarship (Allocation Mensuelle d’Entretien):

  • Living allowance 615 euros
  • Medical insurance coverage (approx 300 euros / academic year)
  • Student visa fee waiver (16,500 INR approx)
  • Assistance to find affordable student accommodation

Note: Full tuition fee waiver at public universities or partial tuition fee waivers by other institutions, can be granted according to their individual policies or

b) Charpak BCS Scholarship (Bourse de Couverture Sociale):

  • Medical insurance coverage (approx 300 euros / academic year)
  • Student visa fee waiver (16,500 INR approx)
  • Assistance to find affordable student accommodation

Scholarship can be taken in the France

Eligibility: Applicant must

  • Be an Indian national and reside in India
  • Be a student currently enrolled at an Indian Institution of higher learning or a young professional employed in a company for a maximum of 3 years at the time of application
  • Be 30 years old maximum at the time of application
  • The course must take place in France. If you have one semester or more of studies in another country, the scholarship will not be provided during that period.
  • An exception will be made for Charpak scholarship holders who are currently completing their M1 in France. They may reapply for the second year of funding in order to complete their M2. There is no automatic renewal of the scholarship at the M2 level. Acceptance will be subject to academic performance at the M1 level and a new statement of purpose.
  • Non-scholarship holders currently pursuing M1 in France are not eligible for the scholarship.

Nationality: Students from India can apply for master scholarships.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must be a student currently enrolled at an Indian Institution of higher learning or a young professional employed in a company for a maximum of 3 years at the time of application

English language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Master Scholarships

How to Apply: Applicants have to send the following documents via email:

  • Application form duly filled, signed, printed and scanned
  • Scanned copy of the first page of passport (with photo and expiry date).
  • Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
  • Scanned copy of their admission/acceptance letter from the French higher education institution. If they have not received it before the deadline, attach an email correspondence to show that they are in the process of getting the acceptance letter from them.
  • Attested (by a gazetted officer or the Head of the institute where they studied/are studying) scanned copies of mark sheets of Higher Secondary School (XII), Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees (including those of completed semesters of the ongoing degree)
  • French language certificate if any (from Alliance Française in India or any recognised university or Xth marks card if French was their second language)
