Master’s Scholarships, Semiotics, Estonia

Description : 15 scholarships are available for foreign students to enroll in the newly created Master’s program in Semiotics at University of Tartu, Estonia. The program is fully taught in English and lasts for 2 years. In addition to the theory of semiotics student can specialize in three core modules – cultural semiotics, biosemiotics and sociosemiotics. All accepted students to this program will receive a tuition waiver scholarship that will cover their tuition fee for the whole two years of the program. Additionally a stipend of 200 EUR/month will be granted in the course of studies to students with the best academic results. Applications are now welcome and will continue to be welcome until May 2009 for the academic year starting in September 2009. UT Department of Semiotics is one of the most important centres of semiotics in Europe, and the birthplace of the world-renowned Tartu-Moscow school of semiotics which was founded by prof. Juri Lotman.
