Max Planck Research Institute Postdoc Research fellowship
Applications are invited for the above position in an Independent Junior Research Group to study the involvement of Endoplasmic reticulum chaperones and protein folding in protein secretion and disease progression, using a proteomics-based approach. The Research Group is embedded within the Max Planck Research Unit for Enzymology of Protein Folding, and is housed in the modern and well-equipped Biozentrum, only a few minutes ride from the city center.You are a dedicated scientist with a PhD in the biological sciences and Significant experience in proteome research, and you master sample preparation and 2D-gel electrophoresis techniques. Experience with 2D-DIGE, ImageMaster Platinum or DeCyder analytical software would be a considerable advantage. German language skills, though advantageous, are not essential. You will investigate differential expression of proteins in specific cells and tissues, implement and optimize various protocols for subcellular proteome analysis. The post is initially funded for a period of two years. The position is available immediately.
