Eligibility

  • Applicants, who have the nationality of Kenya and Uganda, can take advantage of this award. Candidates of any African country are also permitted to take part in this award under the Africa region award quota.
  • Applicants from Science in agri entrepreneurship and communication management, science in food and agribusiness, science in food security and community nutrition, and science in agri enterprises development subject areas are invited for this grant.
  • For being eligible for this grant, holders ought to be from economically disadvantaged, marginalized communities, coming from conflict and post-conflict areas along with this they must be less than 25 years for undergraduate and less than 30 years for master’s studies by the deadline of the application. Learners should be capable of demonstrating an interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship, commitment to leadership. Pupils should be committed to working in agriculture, agricultural value chains and rural development as well as a commitment to community engagement and transformation.

How to Apply

  • How to apply: Applicants should obtain application forms for both the awards and admission from the University of choice. Applicants shall only apply to one university of choice. Application forms can also be downloaded from the following websitesRUFORUM, Gulu University, and Egerton University. Applicants are encouraged to carefully study the application guidelines and provide all the required information and documents prior to submitting the application. Females are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications can be submitted in hard copy or by email attachment to program coordinators in the University of Choice. Applications (PDF) by email attachment should not be more than 1 MB and two file attachment (university admission form and application form).
  • Supporting Documents: For being considered for this award, holders are advised to submit all the documents as guided in the application form for university admission, both the program application form and the university admission form at the same time, academic certificates and transcripts, and police clearance certificate (Certificate of good conduct).
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must have completed secondary school and/or diploma.
  • Language Requirement:  For being applied for the free study, the applicant should be an expert in the English language.

Benefit

The program will be given to the learners by covering tuition fees, one return air ticket for African students from outside Uganda and Kenya, research costs, workshop and conference costs, living expenses including stipend and accommodation fees, laptop, internship attachment, community engagement and field attachment, and entrepreneurship training.
