These scholarships proved to be a helping hand to make this art alive. As of the practical aspect martial arts major helps to improve their muscle tone, lose weight, and learn self-defense. Students who believe in physical fitness and strength opted for this specific major in higher education too. There are various universities and organizations which are providing scholarships to students who have opted their career in martial arts. In order to get a scholarship, there are certain criteria and requirements that must be met before applying.

H.U. Lee Memorial Foundation Scholarship
The H.U. Lee Memorial Foundation awards scholarship for Taekwondo students. The H.U. Lee Memorial Foundation scholarship program includes two levels of awards i.e. National and Regional. National scholarships usually range from $1,000 to $5,000 and are paid on a semester basis and regional scholarships are one-time awards, typically for $500. Students may apply for a regional scholarship each year during their college career. The deadline for this scholarship is February 15, 2016.

S.A.V.E. Scholarship
The S.A.V.E. (Sports, Arts, Volunteerism and Education) is offering scholarship to martial arts students. S.A.V.E. scholarship funds are available for all DU recreation youth programs, both competitive and recreational. The maximum award for all S.A.V.E. scholarships is 50 percent of a program’s registration fee. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Helen Gee Chin Scholarship
The Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation is offering college scholarships to Chinese martial arts students. This scholarship is to encourage academic achievement and motivate individuals to become serious students of the Chinese martial arts. The applicant of Helen Gee Chin Scholarship must be a U.S. citizen. The scholarship deadline is June 15, 2015.

Texas A&M Judo Scholarship
Texas A&M University is providing Texas A&M Judo scholarship to all full time judo students attending Texas A&M University. Incoming freshman or transfer students are also eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship provides award of $1, 0000. Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis.

LINXX Academy Scholarships
The LINXX Academy of Martial Arts offers two scholarship programs to new incoming students of martial arts. The LINXX Academy scholarships program includes the following two opportunities: Special Operations Scholarship is designed to support the families of wounded or fallen U.S. special operations members and Economic Outreach Scholarship for students with low incomes and/or financial difficulties. This scholarship awards up to six one-year scholarships valued at $2,240 each. This scholarship applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis.

Zen Bei Butoku Kai Scholarship
This scholarship is available to martial arts students who has studied a martial art for over two years and is currently practicing a martial art. This scholarship covers maximum award of 5000.00 dollars per year. Selection is based on the merit of a required paper between 3,000 and 10,000 words describing how martial arts’ training has affected the applicant’s personal growth.
