PhD position available within laser spectroscopy for the detection of trace gasses

At the Department of Molecular and Laser Physics of the Radboud University a vacancy is available for a 4-year PhD position. The topic of research will be the development of   highly sensitive trace gas detectors, based on continuous wave Optical Parametric Oscillators and state-of-the-art spectroscopic methods. The field of application will be the detection of trace gases in the exhaled breath of humans, as an early, non-invasive indication for the detection of diseases.

Requirements  Candidates for this position must have received their Master’s degree in physics at the start of the PhD project.

Organization   The successful applicant will join an active group of researchers developing trace gas detectors for life science applications. Next to biological and agricultural applications the research group is strongly committed to develop trace gas sensors for Medical applications.

Conditions of employment
Maximum salary per month, based on fulltime employment: Euro 2502,-
The gross salary will rise from 1956 euro per month in the first year to 2502 euro during the last year.
Duration of contract: one year, with a possible extension to four years.
