Invites application from suitable candidates for recruitment of Post Doctoral (6)/ Senior (17)/ Junior (15) Research Fellows for the Plan Projects*under 11th Plan of the Survey.
PDF : Stipend: Rs. 15,000/- pm,
Contingency: Rs. 16,000/- per year (paid on a quarterly basis)
Eligibility: Age – 40 years (as on 15.09.2009),
Ph. D. in Anthropology or Allied disciplines from any recognized University/Institute having at least three years research experience with evidence of published work of a good standard.
SRF : Stipend: Rs. 12,000/- pm,
Contingency: Rs. 12,000/- per year (paid in quarterly basis)
Eligibility: Age – 32 years, (as on 01.07.2008),
Master degree in Anthropology or Allied Disciplines with a minimum of 55% marks, two years research experience and publications of good standard.
JRF : Stipend: Rs. 10,000/- pm
Contingency: Rs. 10,000/- per year (paid in quarterly basis)
Eligibility: Age – 28 years, (as on 01.07.2008),
Master degree in Anthropology or Allied Disciplines with a minimum of 55% marks.
Selection will be made through written test followed by interview for JRF, SRF and interview for PDF. The selected candidates will be attached anywhere in India including Andaman & Nocober Regional Centre of the Survey. The tenure of fellowship is three years, extendable for one more year in deserving cases. Candidates selected will have to undergo training necessary for the project work from time to time. Deserving SRF/JRF will have the opportunity to work for their Ph.D. as per the Survey’s guidelines (please visit www.ansi.gov.in).
Interested candidates should apply in the prescribed application form, downloaded from the Survey’s website along with duly filled in application enclosed with copies of all certificates/mark sheets/testimonials, two recent passport size photographs and a crossed Indian Postal Order of Rs. 50/- (Rs.25/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of Pay and Accounts Officer, Pay & Accounts Office, Department of Culture, Kolkata, payable at GPO, Kolkata. The application should be addressed to the Director, Anthropological Survey of India, 27 Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Kolkata -700 016.
The last date for receiving the application is 16th November 2009.
Eligible candidates called for written test & interview will be paid ordinary Bus/Train fares on production of the proof of journey. Candidates will have to arrange their own accommodation at Kolkata, if needed.
