Ph.D Studentships in Middleware for Wireless Sensor Networks, Ireland
Applicants are invited for a number of Ph.D studentships which exist within Clarity: Centre for Sensor Web Technologies. These studentships will be in the crucial area of middleware for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). On-going research within Clarity is concerned with the provision of middleware that supports the management and self management of WSNs. Specifically a sensor middleware entitled SIXTH is under development which will support such issues as (re)programming, visualization, monitoring of WSN wellness indicators and ultimately the development of autonomic WSNs.
Applicants should have a keen interest in one or more of the following areas: Wireless Sensor Networks, Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) and Middleware for Embedded Systems. Applicants would be expected to exhibit the appropriate Software Engineering skills, been able to express clearly their research in a written and spoken form and be ambitious and highly motivated.
Studentships would be in the form of a tax free scholarship and fee payment of circa €25,000 per annum for a 3 year period. Successful applicants would join an internationally recognized research centre and a very active research group in the Intelligent Middleware for Wireless Sensor Networks area with a strong publication and research grant procurement culture.
