Job Description: Applications enclosing bio-data are invited from both male and female candidates who are interested in pursuing Ph.D in the following interdisciplinary topics:
Defluoridation of Water/Physics and Chemistry of Conducting Polymers/Organic-Inorganic Solar Cells/Conversion of Waste into Useful Materials/Solar Water Desalination. All the projects are application oriented.
Presently three projects funded by DST are running with the group.
1 Prevention and Control of Fluorosis in Lakshmangarh using Low Cost Defluoridation Filters
2 A Study of Polyaniline Pthalocyanine thin films as suitable materials in Solar Cells
3 Prevelance and Mitigation of Fluoride Toxicity in Sikar District of Rajasthan.
M.Sc 1st Divison in Chemistry/Environmental Science/Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry/Physics/Engineering Physics/Applied Physics.
Preference will be given to candidates who have some experience/research exposure in industry or in a research lab.
Guidance of Ph.D. candidates will be by Dr. Kushal Qanungo (Ph.D. IIT Kanpur and Dr. Saroj Sharma (Ph.D. HPU Shimla). Other faculty members of the institute will be involved in the research work depending on the project.
Stipend from institute to all selected candidates Rs. 10,000 pm/-
Ph.D. fees approx 81,500/- pa for first year and 52,000/- pa from 2nd year onwards.
Institute Hostels approx 1 lakh pa including boarding and lodging (only girls inside campus).
Pvt. Hostels (only girls outside the campus)
Approx 50,000/- to 60,000/- pa including boarding and lodging.
Many one-room accommodations outside are available for boys 1200 to 1500 pm. (Boarding only).
