PhD Funded Research Opportunity at Bentley College, 2009
A funded PhD research position is available in the PhD in Business Program at Bentley College (see details of the program). The NSF-sponsored research project focuses on design and evaluation methodologies for improving ERP system usability. The scope of the project encompasses field studies for identifying usability issues along with the development of new methods for evaluating and enhancing the usability properties of ERP systems, with broader applicability to the design of large-scale real-world software systems.
We are seeking a qualified and motivated doctoral student to work on the development of design principles for enhancing usability, illustrative prototypes for implementing those principles, and novel evaluation methods for measuring usability. Candidates must have strong analytical skills and a Master’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline. The starting date for this position is September 2009. The deadline for applications is February 2, 2009.

This is an excellent career development opportunity for a talented doctoral student. You will be working with senior researchers at three universities, applying and developing theories from several research traditions, and using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods.
